Editorial

I’ve been at the Charles M. Schulz Studio since 2007 and have worked on a variety of projects in that time including: books, comic books, graphic novels, video games, animation, exhibitions, theme parks, and everything in between. As Editorial Director my focus is on Peanuts publishing programs and developing Location Based Entertainment with our worldwide partners. Below are a few projects I’m proud to highlight.

The Essential Peanuts, The Greatest Comic Strip Of All Time is our big 75th Anniversary celebration of Peanuts. The Schulz Studio and Schulz Museum worked in close collaboration with publisher Abrams ComicArts to bring this book to life. The book is written by Mark Evanier, who walks the reader through Schulz’s life across his decades of creating the strip. The book is anchored by 75 Essential Peanuts Comic strips that explain Schulz’s craft and evolution and also features hundreds more that explore the themes and ideas presented in the Essential strips. For more on the book, check out this video walkthrough from my patreon page.

For a unique look at Schulz’s life, I recommend this manga biography about Charles M. Schulz. Originally published in 2020 by Kadokawa in Japan, a new English language version was published last year by Udon. The Schulz Studio worked closely with both publishers to ensure the translation and depiction of Schulz’s life was accurate. The interiors are beautifully drawn and the book is a comforting portrayal of an artist’s life, it lovingly capture’s Schulz lifetime ambition to become the world’s greatest cartoonist.

The article above was featured in the 2020 Comic-con Souvenir Magazine and is all about Schulz’s one-time visit to Comic-con International!

Other Peanuts book projects I’ve worked on include…

Managing Editor for the Peanuts Comic Book Series published by Boom Studios (2010-2020)

Editor, Schulz 100 Objects, published by Weldon Owen (2022)

Editor, Celebrating Snoopy, published by Andrews McMeel (2017)
